Summary of Experience

Katie is a tax manager in the Des Moines office of RSM US.  Katie works primarily in the real estate and not-for-profit sectors.  She has 10 years of experience in providing tax services including compliance, research, tax planning and other tax reporting to individuals and businesses.

Katie is a member of the RSM Real Estate Network as well as the Exempt Organization Network. She is involved with new hire orientation and training for both new hires and interns.

Jan Duffy

Jan Duffy has been a CPA since 1980 and an instructor at Iowa State University since 1985.  Prior to that, she was a cash manager for a large utility.  Jan teaches courses in Financial, Managerial, and International Accounting.  As far as nonprofit experience, Jan has served as the treasurer for an elementary PTA, a day care center, a Cub Scout troop, the local hockey association, and the Ames Chapter of AFWA.  Additionally, she has been President of the PTA, the local AFWA chapter and the hockey association, committee chair for the cub scouts, and served on the board of another day care center.

Cheryl Carlile has 30+ years of accounting experience of which 11 years were in public accounting and 7 ½ in University accounting.  Her public accounting experience included review engagements and 990 preparations for not-for-profit clients.  Cheryl’s volunteer work includes 9+ years as Treasurer.

·        CPA - Oklahoma (active), Iowa (reactivation in process), and Illinois (originally passed May 1992)
