Scholarships
Applications for 2024 scholarships were due on or before November 1, 2023.
AFWA Ames Chapter #158 has awarded chapter scholarships to local students each year since 1994.
The deadline for the 2024 scholarships was November 1, 2023. Applications were accepted for: (1) the 2024 Beverly M. Wandling Memorial Scholarship, and (2) the 2024 Kathleen M. Strum Memorial Scholarship. Click here to read about Beverly Wandling and Kathleen Strum.
To be considered for the Beverly M. Wandling Memorial Scholarship, an applicant must: 1. Be a resident of or attend college in Story, Boone, or Marshall Counties of Iowa; 2. Be a full- or part-time student with a declared major in accounting or finance in a two-year, four-year, or master's program; 3. Be committed to the mission of AFWA and exhibit enthusiasm for the accounting or finance professions.
To be considered for the Kathleen M. Strum Memorial Scholarship, an applicant must: 1. Be a non-traditional student; 2. Major in accounting; 3. Be a resident of or attend college in Story, Boone, or Marshall Counties of Iowa; and 4. Support her family with one or more children.

The student receiving the award is Rylee McNaughton who is studying at DMACC.
The 2024 Kathleen M. Strum Scholarship was not awarded.
